Pictured here is myself, aged nine-years-old, at a Second World War reenactment held on 11 September 2004. The event commemorated the sixtieth anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising and took place at the Polish Youth Camp Association in Yorkville, Illinois. Reenactors portraying the Polish Home Army and German forces battled each other on a mock-up of a war ravaged Warsaw street. Having front row seats to the spectacle were actual Home Army veterans of the Uprising.
